Some of the indicators for elevated estrogen include; bloating, irregular menstrual periods, increased symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), mood swings, weight gain, hair loss and water retention. In men the symptoms are generally related to loss of libido and storage of fatty tissue around the chest, buttocks and thighs.
